AC Milan had already set their sights on Endrick during the summer transfer window, only to come away empty-handed. Now, with the January window drawing closer, a very clear signal has arrived from Real Madrid: manager José Mourinho has placed a firm protective shield around the young Brazilian forward, leaving little room for interpretation.
Mourinho: «Endrick Is Going Nowhere»
At a press conference, the Special One responded bluntly to transfer speculation linking Endrick with a possible January loan move in search of more playing time:
«Anyone who wants to take Endrick in January will have to go through me and fight against me. Endrick is going nowhere, I adore him. He is very talented and will be an asset for us. We don’t need loans. Endrick will explode here at Real Madrid.»
Clear, direct and almost impossible to misread. Whether this is a communication strategy or a definitive stance, the message from Madrid is unambiguous: the 2006-born Brazilian is not going anywhere in January.
Milan and the Endrick Dream: A Failed First Attempt
As widely reported, AC Milan had attempted to enter the race for Endrick during the summer transfer window. Gerry Cardinale, the club’s owner, had also shown genuine interest in the talent from Betim. The most realistic option on the table was a six-month loan, a formula already used by other European clubs — Lyon, for instance, had deployed a similar mechanism in the past to help develop young players on loan from top-tier clubs.
The deal never materialised, however. And now, with Mourinho positioning himself as a human shield in front of his young striker, the prospect looks even more remote.
Endrick at Real: A Future Still to Be Written
Endrick arrived at Real Madrid carrying the weight of enormous expectations, but the path of a young player at a club of that stature is never straightforward. The risk for a talent of his age is limited playing time and a gradual loss of the sharpness he built during his formative years in Brazil, where he had already made a name for himself with Palmeiras.
Should his minutes remain scarce as the season progresses, it cannot be ruled out that the situation may evolve. Football is unpredictable, and today’s declarations do not always hold tomorrow. For now, though, Mourinho’s words represent a formidable wall for anyone eyeing Endrick — including Milan.
The Rossoneri will continue to monitor the situation carefully, in the belief that transfer opportunities must be assessed with clear heads and, above all, at the right moment.
