AC Milan are moving decisively in the summer 2026 transfer window. Just hours after Rubén Amorim’s official presentation press conference, the Rossoneri hierarchy hosted Udinese representatives at Casa Milan for a technical meeting that hints at concrete developments. The hottest name to emerge from the talks is Arthur Atta, a French attacking midfielder born in 2000 in Rennes, who has made a name for himself in Italian football.
Who Is Arthur Atta, the Profile That Interests Milan
Atta is a versatile and unpredictable player, capable of operating as a trequartista, as well as a central midfielder or right winger. At Udinese he has been deployed primarily in the advanced midfield role, becoming one of the most interesting figures in the Friulian side. His tactical flexibility makes him particularly attractive for a manager like Amorim, whose 3-4-3 system requires players able to cover multiple positions.
The Frenchman’s contract runs until 2029, placing Udinese in a strong negotiating position. According to Transfermarkt estimates, his valuation stands at around €25 million, with a negotiation range of €25–30 million — a manageable figure, especially given that Milan have a significant budget for this transfer window.
During the Udinese meeting, the names of Oumar Solet — a centre-back also coveted by Inter and other Serie A clubs — and Nicolò Zaniolo were also discussed. However, the latter appears set to extend his contract with the Friulian club, as confirmed by reports that surfaced in recent days.
Amorim’s System Opens the Door to a Quality Trequartista
The search for a trequartista is no coincidence: Amorim’s 3-4-3 includes two attacking players behind the striker, or a classic front three. Either way, the system requires players with technical quality, quick combination play and a goal threat. Arthur Atta fits those criteria precisely, which is why talks with Udinese appear to be heading in a clear direction.
He is not, however, the only name on Milan’s shortlist. Konstantinos Karetsas, a Greek attacking midfielder born in 2007 and playing for Panathinaikos, is considered one of the brightest under-20 talents in European football. His valuation is steep, though — around €35–40 million — with a contract expiring in 2027. An exciting profile, but one that would require a significant financial commitment.
A Busy Market: Amorim’s Vision Takes Shape
Milan’s transfer activity is being shaped around the new Portuguese manager’s tactical ideas. Following the arrival of Mario Gila from Lazio, the club is now focused on the attacking department. The priority is clear: a modern trequartista capable of providing creativity, vertical runs and goals. Arthur Atta appears to be the frontrunner, but the coming weeks will be decisive in determining whether the deal can truly take off.
