Adidas Is Back: A Historic Deal for AC Milan
According to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan has practically sealed a historic agreement with Adidas: starting from the 2027-28 season, the iconic German brand will return as the technical kit sponsor on the Rossoneri jersey, with figures that are unprecedented in Italian football.
The numbers speak for themselves: €50 million per year, over a ten-year contract running from 2028 to 2038. A total of €500 million flowing into the club’s coffers — roughly double what current kit supplier Puma provides, which stands at around €28–30 million per year depending on European competition bonuses.
An Iconic Partnership Reborn
Adidas and Milan: a combination that immediately conjures images of great European nights, trophies lifted to the sky, and unforgettable kits. The three-stripe brand was at Milan’s side during the club’s most successful recent era, including Champions League triumphs in 2003 and 2007 under legendary coaches such as Carlo Ancelotti, and before that Arrigo Sacchi and Fabio Capello. The return of Adidas to the Milan shirt is more than just a financial story — it carries a powerful symbolic and emotional weight for the entire fanbase.
It should be noted that until the 2027-28 season, Milan will continue to wear Puma-manufactured kits, before the full transition to Adidas takes place.
Resources to Be Reinvested for a Stronger Squad
Beyond the staggering financial figures, the question every supporter is asking is simple: will this money be reinvested in the squad? The deal will only begin generating tangible financial effects from 2028, so the club cannot yet count on these additional resources for the next two or three transfer windows. Nevertheless, owner Gerry Cardinale has promised an aggressive approach in the transfer market, with the stated intention of significantly strengthening the team.
For a club like Milan to compete at the highest level, financial stability alone is not enough: what’s needed are precise, well-targeted investments and a squad depth that elevates the overall quality of the bench. Signings like Diego Moreira and Mario Gila this season show that the technical direction can make smart decisions, but consistency is key. Every euro earned from partnerships of this magnitude must translate into tangible improvements on the pitch.
This Adidas deal represents a historic financial turning point for the club, and a powerful signal for the future. The ambition is clear: to bring Milan back to the summit of European football, with the financial means to make it happen.
