Estupiñán on His Way Out: Personal Agreement with Aston Villa
AC Milan are preparing what could be the first major sale of the 2026 transfer window. Pervis Estupiñán, the Ecuadorian left-back born in 1998 who joined the Rossoneri last season, is close to a move to Aston Villa. An agreement with the player and his entourage has already been reached: the full-back wants to return to the Premier League, a competition he knows well from his previous spell in England.
As already reported on CasaMilan.it, Aston Villa want him as a replacement for Digne on the left flank. The player is represented by the same agency that also looks after Jorge Mendes, which has helped facilitate contacts between the parties.
The Club-to-Club Negotiation: Milan and Aston Villa Close the Gap
The sticking point remains financial. Milan are valuing the player at between €18 and €20 million, while Aston Villa opened negotiations with an offer in the region of €12–13 million. The gap is real but bridgeable, and the shared desire to conclude the deal quickly bodes well for a swift resolution.
Given that the player’s willingness to move has already been secured and that the clubs are actively negotiating, the operation could be finalised within the next few hours. A deal before the weekend is a concrete and credible scenario.
A Sale That Fits the Milan Project
Estupiñán’s departure is part of the Rossoneri’s strategy to streamline the squad and raise funds to reinvest in incoming transfers aligned with Amorim’s tactical ideas. The Ecuadorian full-back, despite his solid athletic qualities, is not considered a key piece in the new Portuguese coach’s project.
For Milan it is a clean sale, bringing immediate liquidity and freeing up room for a targeted reinforcement in that area of the pitch. The summer 2026 window is still long, and this could be only the first in a series of outgoing moves that will give the club greater flexibility on the buying front as well.
