ROME – Disappointment for the Rossoneri at the Olimpico after the defeat against Lazio. Milan fell 1-0 thanks to Isaksen’s goal and missed the chance to close the gap in the standings, remaining far from the top of the league. A heavy setback, coming at the end of a match in which Massimiliano Allegri’s side never managed to find offensive continuity.
In the post-match press conference, the Rossoneri coach analysed his team’s performance with clarity, starting from the technical difficulties shown especially in the first half:
“We knew it was going to be a tough game. We needed to be more disciplined in the first half and we shouldn’t have conceded that goal. We made far too many technical mistakes.”
According to Allegri, Milan paid the price above all for the numerous errors in ball management and in the final third:
“In the first half we suffered Lazio’s counter-attacks, losing many duels and making too many mistakes in the final passes.”
The match was decided precisely by a counter-attack that led to Isaksen’s first-half goal, a strike that tilted the contest in favour of the Biancocelesti. From that moment on, Milan struggled to create clear-cut chances, despite increasing their possession in the second half.
Allegri acknowledged that in the second half the team tried to react, but without finding the decisive play:
“In the second half they dropped their tempo a bit, we created something but we couldn’t find the goal.”
The Rossoneri coach insisted above all on one concept: in tight matches, precision and composure in key moments are essential. Qualities that were lacking at the Olimpico.
The result leaves Milan further from the top of the table and with less margin for error in the coming matchdays. After the stumble in Rome, for Allegri and his players the watchword is clear: rediscover effectiveness and consistency to avoid definitively compromising the race for the upper reaches of the standings.
