Mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, has announced that an important step toward the sale of the San Siro stadium will be taken by Friday, with the signing of the deed that will officially transfer ownership of the stadium and surrounding areas to AC Milan and Inter Milan. This agreement represents a pivotal milestone in the process of building and managing the new venue that will be shared by both Milanese football clubs.

A certain controversy has emerged around this agreement. Not everyone is in favor of sharing the stadium, and many fans would have preferred a venue exclusively owned by Milan. The initial proposal envisioned a new Rossoneri stadium in San Donato, but the project evolved into a shared facility, evidently for economic reasons due to the exorbitant construction costs.

President Paolo Scaroni has confirmed that the clubs are working closely with notaries and lawyers to complete this historic act. Despite some fans’ reservations, the management hopes that the new structure will enhance the matchday experience and contribute to strengthening the sporting ambitions of both clubs.
