Training at Milanello: Focus on Finishing
On the morning of Thursday, March 27th, the Milan players who remained available gathered at the Milanello Sports Centre for a training session centred on shooting drills. The focus on finishing is no coincidence: the Rossoneri produce a good volume of shots but often lack the decisive final touch. The aim of the coaching staff led by Massimiliano Allegri is clear — to improve clinical efficiency in front of goal and convert the many chances created during matches.
Injury Update: Gabbia and Leão
As has been the case for several days, Matteo Gabbia trained individually, continuing his recovery programme away from the main squad. The centre-back, born in 1999 and a key figure in Milan’s defensive setup, is working hard to return to full fitness as soon as possible.
The situation is different for Rafael Leão, who was not present at Milanello. The Portuguese forward is currently in Portugal, where he is undergoing a specific treatment programme to resolve a pubic inflammation affecting his adductor. The Rossoneri’s number ten is determined to put this issue behind him before the crucial phase of the season.
Three Days Off, Then All Eyes on Napoli
A further training session is scheduled at Milanello on Friday, March 28th. After that, coach Allegri has granted the squad three days of rest — Sunday, Monday and Tuesday — a welcome break to recharge both physically and mentally ahead of a demanding run-in.
Training resumes on Wednesday, April 1st in the afternoon, when the full group will reconvene following the return of all players involved in international duty. From that point, preparation will begin in earnest for the crucial clash against Napoli, a pivotal fixture for Milan’s ambitions in the league.
The international break comes at a strategic moment: Milan can use these days to recover energy and get all personnel back to full speed, with the goal of tackling the final stretch of the 2025/26 Serie A season with renewed determination.
