Milan third in Serie A for agent spending: the 2025 figures

A significant piece of data has emerged from an analysis by Calcio e Finanza: Milan have virtually doubled their payments to player agents during 2025. A notable increase that places the Rossoneri third in the Serie A rankings for agent-related expenses.

From €11 million to €23 million: the numbers in detail

The figures speak for themselves. While in 2024 Milan allocated approximately €11 million in agent commissions, in 2025 that figure rose to nearly €23 million. That represents an increase of around 50% — in fact, nearly a full doubling — reflecting a particularly busy year on the transfer front.

The increase is directly linked to the volume of business generated across the two 2025 transfer windows: the January winter window and the summer window. Milan completed numerous incoming deals, signing several players to strengthen the squad, and each of those negotiations involved commission payments to intermediaries and player representatives.

The role of agents in modern football

Sports agents have become an indispensable part of contemporary football. Often criticised by fans and pundits alike, agents nonetheless play a fundamental role in facilitating negotiations, managing contracts, and mediating between clubs and players. Their fees are an integral part of the cost of every transfer operation.

The fact that Milan rank third in Serie A for these expenses is indicative of an ambitious transfer strategy. The club based on Via Aldo Rossi has invested decisively to build a competitive squad, and the rise in agent costs is a natural consequence of a proactive approach in the market.

An investment with an eye on the future

More than a mere accounting figure, the increase in commissions tells the story of Milan’s willingness to invest significantly in order to compete at the highest level. The numerous deals completed between January and summer 2025 enriched the squad with quality additions, and the cost associated with agents should be read as part of a broader project of growth and reinforcement.

Milan continue to operate with ambition on the Italian and international football stage, fully aware that every investment — including those directed at intermediaries — serves the goal of building a team capable of returning to the summit on a consistent basis.
