Nkunku trains again with the squad
Today, thanks to a significant improvement in his physical condition, Nkunku has resumed training with his teammates after a long absence due to a foot injury. The news comes after the player struggled to fit into his boots in recent days due to severe pain, a consequence of a knock he received during national team duties.
Today is Wednesday, and with three training sessions available before the match on Friday night against Pisa, coach Allegri may decide to include him at least on the bench. Nkunku didn’t suffer a muscular injury, meaning he could be in sufficient athletic condition to contribute to the team, possibly entering the field for about twenty minutes if the match allows.
The options for Milan’s attack significantly increase with Nkunku’s return, with the possibility of seeing Leao paired with Santiago Gimenez, a combination that has already shown to be more effective on the pitch. The hope is that Gimenez can finally score his first goal in the league, and if needed, Nkunku could be an available resource in the closing stages of the game.
We will still wait for tomorrow’s press conference, where Allegri might clarify whether Nkunku is ready to return or if he prefers to postpone his comeback. A cautious choice would be understandable given the delicacy of the situation.
