Furlani Out of Milan’s Board: It’s Official
Confirmation has arrived: Giorgio Furlani has officially left AC Milan’s board of directors. What had long been an open secret — given the former CEO’s absence from the club’s public sphere — has now been formally confirmed. Furlani no longer holds any role within the club’s corporate structure.
Furlani’s role at Milan
Appointed Milan CEO in the summer of 2023, Furlani arrived from the world of finance as a direct representative of RedBird Capital Partners. His background was firmly rooted in investment management rather than traditional football operations. During his tenure he oversaw several significant transfer and commercial operations, including contract negotiations, signings and sales.
Notably, his handling of the Christian Pulisic contract renewal — one of the most sensitive issues on the club’s agenda — had remained stuck for an extended period without meaningful progress, with tensions reportedly emerging between the club and the American’s camp.

Furlani’s exit from Milan’s board marks a shift in the club’s governance. His departure formally closes a chapter in RedBird‘s early stewardship of the club, making way for a refreshed structure that appears determined to take a clearer direction both on the sporting and corporate fronts.
Milan are looking ahead: the new leadership is already working on key priorities, as evidenced by the renewed push to tie down Pulisic — one of the most emblematic figures in Sérgio Amorim’s squad. A clear sign that, following the changes at the top, the club intends to move with greater purpose and speed.
