From 16 August, Mike Maignan and Adrien Rabiot resumed training at Milanello alongside the rest of the squad. The two French internationals joined the group for the first time this pre-season, having been granted a longer holiday period than their teammates.

Amorim felt it was right to allow them a more complete physical and mental recovery before the new campaign kicks off.
The Portuguese manager also pointed out that throughout their entire break — not just the extra three days — both players followed a tailored training programme, which they adhered to professionally. A show of commitment to the project that the coach openly appreciated.
Maignan Favourite to Start Between the Posts Against Torino
During the pre-season friendlies, the Milan goal was guarded by Lorenzo Torriani, who put in some confident performances, including saving a penalty. An important step forward for the young goalkeeper, who continues to develop as one of the club’s most exciting prospects.
However, with Maignan back in the building, the established hierarchy reasserts itself: the French stopper — one of the best goalkeepers in Europe — is expected to reclaim his place between the posts for the Serie A opener against Torino. A goalkeeper of his calibre and experience needs very little time to find his match rhythm again.
Rabiot: A Key Midfielder Returns at Just the Right Time
Adrien Rabiot is also set to reintegrate into the squad with his usual professionalism. The French midfielder, who arrived on a free transfer last season, is central to Amorim’s midfield plans. His physicality, ability to drive forward and tactical intelligence make him a valuable asset in Milan’s system. With the midfield market still active, Rabiot’s availability gives Amorim solidity and genuine options right from the first game of the season.
