With the Serie A opener just around the corner, AC Milan’s transfer window is heating up fast. The hottest topic involves Santiago Giménez: according to the latest reports, Milan are in advanced talks with Porto over a temporary deal for the Mexican striker. The formula would be a loan with an option to buy, meaning the Rossoneri would not receive an immediate significant fee, with the Portuguese club covering his wages.
This is not entirely new ground: Porto, currently managed by Farioli, had already set their sights on Giménez last summer, despite official denials at the time. The situation has now developed concretely. The striker’s absence from the trip to Poland for the Manchester United friendly was reportedly not only down to transfer talks — the striker born in 2001 is also recovering from an injury that has limited his pre-season preparation.

A separate chapter concerns Rafael Leão. The talented Portuguese winger, currently sidelined with a muscle problem, is once again at the centre of transfer speculation. Galatasaray are reportedly preparing a new, higher offer following the rejection of their initial bid of €30 million plus €5 million in bonuses. The Turkish club is determined to try again.
Milan’s stance on the Portuguese star is clear: the minimum asking price is set at €50 million, but should an offer in the range of €40–45 million plus bonuses arrive, the Rossoneri could be open to negotiations. A potential sale of the winger in the final stages of the summer window cannot be ruled out — a scenario that would, of course, require a quality replacement. Leão himself had already publicly stated his position, underlining that his future is handled exclusively by his family and lawyers.
