Allegri locks in his future: no call from the national team, the project is Milan

Following the win over Verona, Massimiliano Allegri delivered statements that amount to a clear declaration of intent. Asked about his future and a possible interest from the Italian national team, the Livorno-born coach replied with the words Rossoneri fans had been hoping to hear: “There has been no call from the national team yet. My thoughts are with Milan. We started a journey together and we will continue it together.”

A firm response, coming at a time when the FIGC is preparing to elect its new president — with a likely contest involving figures such as Malagò, Abete and possibly Albertini ahead of the June elections — and with Allegri’s name inevitably circulating as a potential candidate for the Azzurri bench.

Tare is on the same page

Sporting director Igli Tare also spoke clearly before the Verona match, leaving no room for doubt: “There is nothing to discuss. He has done an excellent job this season, he has a long contract with the club, and as he himself has said, he likes to plan and build something important. We are working together for the future.”

A full alignment between coach and management that, at least in terms of public statements, conveys stability and a shared vision. Milan appear to have found common ground on which to build the technical project for the 2026/27 season.

The future table: Furlani, Ibrahimovic, Allegri together

Once Champions League qualification is mathematically confirmed, transfer operations will officially begin. The plan is clear: Giorgio Furlani, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Massimiliano Allegri will sit down together to build a squad capable of making an impact in Europe.

The coach already knows what he needs: three or four targeted signings, quality players — not mere squad fillers. The message to owners RedBird Capital and the CEO is unambiguous: competing at the highest level in the Champions League requires quality profiles, not quantity.

Words matter, but actions matter more

The mood around Milan is constructive and positive, and the statements from Allegri and Tare should be read as encouraging signals. Of course, as at every major club, results and decisions are what ultimately make the difference. The next transfer window will be the concrete opportunity to prove that Milan is ready to make the definitive quality leap. The direction looks right: a motivated coach, a united management and ownership with all the tools to invest wisely.

Rossoneri fans have good reasons to be optimistic. The project is there, the will is there. Now is the time to turn words into bold, winning market choices.
