Vlahovic at a crossroads: renewal with Juventus or a new chapter?
Italian football’s transfer market has its eyes firmly fixed on Dusan Vlahovic. The Serbian striker’s contract with Juventus expires on 30 June 2026, and renewal talks are dragging — while AC Milan have no intention of watching from the sidelines.
According to reports from Sport Mediaset and Tuttosport, Juventus have reopened dialogue with the player’s agent, Darko Ristic, offering a short-term extension — two years at most — with a significantly reduced salary compared to his current €12 million net per season. The Bianconeri’s proposal sits at around €6.5-7 million plus a signing bonus. An approach similar to the one previously used with Adrien Rabiot.
Milan step in with a longer-term offer
The economic gap between Vlahovic’s demands and Juventus’ offer has created an opening that Milan intend to exploit. Multiple sources report that the Rossoneri have already slowed their search for an alternative striker — with the Fullkrug option off the table — in order to keep this avenue open.
According to Tuttosport, Milan’s proposal is structured over a longer period — three years — with a salary slightly above Juventus’ offer. A package that could prove more attractive for a player thinking about long-term financial security.
A key factor in all of this is Massimiliano Allegri. The Milan manager knows Vlahovic better than almost anyone, having coached him at Juventus for two and a half seasons. It has not always been a straightforward relationship — Allegri would occasionally use the bench as a motivational tool — but the Tuscan coach knows exactly what the Serbian can deliver when fully motivated. It was, after all, a Vlahovic goal that won the 2023-2024 Coppa Italia final against Atalanta.
The Champions League factor: Juventus’ big unknown
Lurking in the background is a variable that could prove decisive: Juventus’ qualification for next season’s Champions League. The Turin club have not yet mathematically secured a European spot, and failure to reach the continent’s top club competition would impact both the project’s appeal to Vlahovic and the financial resources available to fund his wages.
Should Juventus miss out on Europe’s top stage, the landscape for Vlahovic would shift dramatically. Milan, currently second in Serie A, offer a solid and competitive European project.
The Kostic-Ristic connection: fans’ imaginations run wild
One detail has particularly fired the imagination of Rossoneri supporters: Vlahovic’s agent, Darko Ristic, is the very same man who negotiated the recent signing of Andrej Kostic from Partizan Belgrade. Milan have already built a working relationship with this agent, which could smooth any future discussions over a serious move for the Juventus striker.
For now, this remains in the realm of possibility. Vlahovic’s decision on his future is expected within the next few weeks. If the Juventus renewal is concluded, the story ends there. But if the Bianconeri encounter difficulties, Milan are ready to make their move.
